Mini-Introductory Workshop on Wet Collodion

Have you been thinking about trying out wet collodion photography? You are in the right place!

This mini-introductory workshop is aimed at people wishing to discover and experiment with the creation of wet collodion photographs on aluminum plates (tintypes).

Covering both theory and practice, this exclusive workshop allows a single person or two people coming together as a duo to delve into the fascinating history of photography, discovering the different stages leading to the creation of an image with wet collodion, and to be guided step by step in the production of their first tintypes.

The workshop is offered in both French and English. I strongly recommended that you have a strong understanding of the basics of photography. All necessary equipment is provided for the duration of the workshop: large format camera, darkroom, protective equipment, chemicals.

Cost

  • Solo (1 person) — $225 + tax
  • Duo (2 people who know each other) — $400 + tax
  • Entrance fees of $23 + tx must be paid at the Jardins de Métis ticket booth.

How it works

  • Use the small calendar to book a 2h30 minute mini-workshop. This gives us time to produce a few tintypes.
  • Our workshop will unfortunately have to be canceled in case of rain
  • I will confirm to you a few days before where exactly the workshop will take place at the Reford Gardens.
  • During the workshop, you will receive a cheat sheet on wet collodion photography.
  • A few weeks after the workshop, you will receive your tintypes in the mail, as well as scans of your photos.
